Chairman’s Welcome Address
I invite you to the historic city of Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State to attend the 11th Annual Scientific Conference and All Fellows Congress of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Ibadan, originally termed “Ìlú Ẹ̀bá-Ọ̀dàn” the city at the edge of the savannah, is the third largest metropolitan area, by population, in Nigeria. Its location is unique as it is a prominent transit point between the coastal region and the areas to the north. Ibadan is a city of hills and rivers with a favourable climate all year round.
Ibadan has many commercial districts and boasts of many social places of interest such as the National museum, two zoological gardens (University of Ibadan & Agodi gardens), a botanical garden, cultural center, Trans-amusement park, Bower Memorial Tower, Heritage mall, Ventura Mall, several golf clubs, polo club and many other leisure spots.
This year’s conference will be holding at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan. The theme, “Health care financing for sustainable development is very relevant in view of the global economic recession worldwide. Government and institutions needs to adopt alternative means of financing health care. The sub-themes also reflect the current challenges posing as threats to the Nigeria health system.
It promises to be a unique experience with stimulating academic sessions by experienced researchers mixed with blends of relaxing social events.
I wish you a pleasant and most memorable conference.
